About the position

As a Technician in Refrigeration/HVAC, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and repairing heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems. Your responsibilities will include troubleshooting, diagnosing, and performing both major and minor preventive maintenance on HVAC/R equipment. You will ensure that all installations and modifications meet quality standards by conducting thorough inspections. Additionally, you will manage refrigerant levels and parts inventory, ensuring that all necessary resources are available for effective HVAC/R maintenance and repair. This position requires building strong relationships with suppliers and contractors to facilitate timely procurement of parts and services. In this role, you will be expected to demonstrate a strong commitment to customer service, maintaining clear and respectful communication with clients and team members. You will also need to exhibit personal accountability and effective time management skills to meet your commitments and deadlines. Your experience in commercial HVAC/Refrigeration maintenance will be essential in ensuring that all systems operate efficiently and effectively, contributing to the overall success of the facilities you service.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, maintain, and repair HVAC/R equipment.
• Perform major and minor preventive maintenance on HVAC/R systems.
• Inspect installations and modifications of HVAC/R to ensure quality standards are met.
• Manage refrigerant levels and parts inventory for HVAC/R maintenance and repair.
• Track and order HVAC/R parts as needed.
• Develop relationships with suppliers and contractors to ensure timely procurement of parts and services.

Requirements

• 2+ years' experience in commercial HVAC/Refrigeration maintenance.
• Type I/Type II or Universal Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Certification for Refrigerant handling.
• Hold a valid state-issued driver's license with a clean driving record and ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) report.
• Vocational or Technical Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration (HVAC/R) certification and 2 years experience in mechanical maintenance or construction-related field for commercial HVAC/R and building controls OR 4 years experience in mechanical maintenance or construction-related field for commercial HVAC/R and building controls or related field.

Nice-to-haves

• Previous rack refrigeration experience.
• Completion of a 2-year Vocational or Technical HVAC/R program.
• Mechanical license in city and/or state where job is located.
