Responsibilities
- Perform advanced troubleshooting and diagnosing of equipment malfunctions and failures at job sites.
- Clean, repair, recondition, and maintain equipment and components to ensure they meet company standards.
- Prepare inspection and appraisal reports.
- Understand the operation, function, specifications, capabilities, and controls of rental equipment.
- Complete all documents associated with repairs accurately and timely.
- Adhere to manager's and lead mechanic's directions regarding all repairs and service calls.
- Follow all safety rules and maintain quality housekeeping in the work area.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- 5 years or more of work-related experience in a technician-related position
- Valid Driver's License
- Must have required shop hand tools
Nice-to-haves
- Certificate acquired through a vocational or technical school
- Valid Class B CDL
- 7 years or more of work-related experience with heavy equipment, preferably with a rental company or Caterpillar
- Working knowledge of hydraulics, powertrain, electronic/electrical systems
