About the position

The R&D Technician at KDC/ONE is responsible for overseeing daily laboratory activities, including conducting verification testing, producing documentation, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. This entry-level position focuses on supporting product development in a collaborative environment, adhering to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and other regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Promote a safe working environment and adhere to Environmental Health and Safety procedures.
  • Make daily and large-scale batches as assigned by R&D Management.
  • Follow R&D Chemist's instructions closely and record observations clearly.
  • Maintain housekeeping in conformance with GMP and SOP standards.
  • Adjust batches and take specifications as instructed by the R&D Chemist.
  • Generate necessary forms and labels for sample submission to external customers.
  • Calibrate and perform regular maintenance on lab equipment as per R&D procedures.
  • Test and release raw material samples for use in lab batches.
  • Assist lab personnel in daily activities and tasks.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering, Organic Chemistry, Chemistry, or Biochemistry in process is preferred.
  • Minimum 1-2 years' experience in R&D Technician role in Consumer Products, preferably in cosmetics process manufacturing or an FDA regulated industry.
  • Experience in OTC product development is a plus.
  • Knowledge of FDA, CTFA, and PCPC regulations for global formulation.
  • Formulation experience in developing Hair Care, Personal Care, Fragrance, and Skin Care products is preferred.
  • Good technical foundation of formulated products including emulsions, surfactants, and structured liquids.
  • Technical knowledge of chemistry, polymers, colorants, and other raw materials used in the cosmetic industry.
  • Advanced reporting, designing, and data analytic skills.
  • Strong math skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Advanced PC knowledge, particularly in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Demonstration of continual education and initiative in learning industry trends.
  • Strong English communication skills: speaking, reading, and writing.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in developing natural/clean products, creams, lotions, and waxes using reverse engineering methods.
  • Ability to lead and influence organizational change.
  • Flexibility to work special schedules as required.
