This position is located at (VSFB) Vandenberg Space Force Base, CA. This position is not eligible for telecommuting.

Responsibilities

  • Operation and maintenance of radar systems and associated subsystems and consoles, including pedestal, high power transmitter, signal generators, heat exchangers
  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on all subsystems and document all activities in the Integrated Maintenance Data System (IMDS)
  • Assist in calibration of high power transmitter for correct frequencies, pulse widths, shapes and power levels
  • Review, update and execute all critical launch documentation including Operations Directives (OD's), Range Safety Operational Requirements (RSOR), Integrated Countdown Document (ICD) and Data Distribution Listing (DDL)
  • Perform troubleshooting of electronic hardware to component level and perform repairs in accordance with technical orders (TO's), maintenance manuals and schematics
  • Conduct training operations and maintenance for Radar Systems
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • A.S degree in Electronics Technology or equivalent military training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum of five (5) years of electronics related experience
  • Proficient experience in Microsoft Office Suite and basic computer tasks
  • Proficient in Radio Frequency and Digital diagnostic troubleshooting
  • Two (2) years' Radar experience, preferred
  • Good analytical and problem solving skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to exercise diplomacy within a team environment
