About the position

The Technician - System IT I role at Bally's Evansville involves setting up, verifying, and running jobs using job control language and other commands. The position is responsible for system analysis, recovery, and monitoring security procedures, ensuring the smooth operation of IT systems within the casino environment.

Responsibilities

  • Sets up, verifies, and runs jobs using job control language statements and/or other appropriate commands.
  • Assists in analysis and recovery of system/s when malfunction occurs.
  • Performs routine Daily Systems Checks and documents results to identify anomalies to be resolved.
  • Assists in monitoring security procedures.
  • Monitors and performs all Production and File Server back-up and recovery.
  • Documents all new, changing, and malfunctioning jobs related to the hardware and software in a Helpdesk environment.
  • Troubleshoots software and hardware to provide end User support throughout the organization.
  • Maintains the Windows based Active Directory and File Server to ensure proper printing and accurate delivery of customer files.
  • Assists in monitoring and performs maintenance and set up of hardware and software on network LAN/WAN systems.
  • Monitors hardware and software on Phone Systems.
  • Maintains tape library and inventory of systems requiring backup to ensure available resources.
  • Monitors environmental equipment (air conditioning, humidity, and temperature of computer equipment).
  • Assists users to resolve problems with computer hardware and software (help desk).
  • Assists in communication, coordinating and scheduling work with vendor service providers.
  • Assists with system software loading and hardware maintenance on administrative computer systems and network.

Requirements

  • Experience in AS400, Unix AIX, VMWare ESXi, Windows, and Windows Server operating systems.
  • Knowledgeable of the Indiana Gaming regulations as well as the company's internal controls, policies, and procedures.
  • Ability to stand, sit, and walk for prolonged periods of time (7+ hours).
  • Must be able to work a variety of hours, holidays, and weekends as necessary.
