About the position

The Technician position at Profire Energy involves providing technical support and service management for Burner Management Systems in the oil and gas industry. The role requires collaboration with sales and service teams, ensuring efficient installations, maintenance, and customer support while contributing to the growth of the service team across North America.

Responsibilities

  • Manage, lead, and train technicians and service contracts assigned to projects, installations, and work orders.
  • Collaborate with Sales on customer initiatives, training, and business development activities.
  • Assist the sales team with responses to technical requests and documentation support.
  • Provide weekly status updates on open sales orders and direct completion activities as required.
  • Become a subject matter expert on all Profire products and train with manager, peers, and technicians.
  • Ensure accurate, safe, efficient, and professional service on Profire products including installations, burner maintenance, and combustion analysis.
  • Interface with customers to provide professional and accurate technical support.
  • Be available for technical support and customer service call outs, including after hours and weekends.
  • Ensure all service tickets and work orders are complete and accurate.
  • Ensure profitability of the service team by properly billing technicians for all services provided.
  • Contribute to the sales process by attending meetings and ensuring professionalism and reliability from the service team.
  • Coordinate efforts with the Regional Sales Manager and Territory Sales representatives.
  • Work with the Business Development group to seek new opportunities outside of oil and gas.
  • Participate in the sales process including quoting, implementation, and service follow-up.
  • Train installation partners on Profire installations, operation, and troubleshooting.
  • Monitor technician inventory levels and ensure technician part lists are accurate.
  • Conduct field completion and work evaluation of technician work to ensure brand standards are achieved.
  • Report sales referrals to the Regional Sales Manager.
  • Help in the growth of the service team throughout Canada and the USA.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated field installation expertise.
  • Ability to comply with all customer requirements for onsite work, including background checks and drug tests.
  • Mechanical and electrical inclination.
  • Technical degree/Trade diploma or equivalent experience.
  • Willingness to travel.
  • Ability to collaborate and problem solve with other intercompany departments.
