The position of Technologist-Electrical Hardware Design is located in the Schaeffler Special Machinery (SMB) Department in Wooster, Ohio. In this role, you will contribute to Schaeffler's success in an ever-changing market by conceptualizing and testing new technologies and procedures for manufacturing processes. The ideal candidate will possess superior skills in wiring, panel building, electrical print reading, and fabrication. You will be expected to operate shop equipment such as drill presses, shears, mills, grinders, and more, with a strong focus on high craftsmanship and attention to detail. A solid understanding of systems integration strategies, concepts, and techniques is essential, along with knowledge of electrical codes and industry best practices. Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills are also critical for success in this role. This position may require up to 10% travel, allowing you to engage with various projects and teams across locations. Responsibilities

  • Conceptualize and test new technologies and procedures for manufacturing processes.

Requirements

  • Journeyman Certification Electrician or Associates degree in an electrical technology related field or similar.
  • Authorization to work in the US without employment VISA or other sponsorship.
  • Strong skills in wiring, panel building, and electrical print reading.
  • Experience with shop equipment such as drill press, shear, mill, and grinder.
  • Knowledge of systems integration strategies and techniques.
  • Familiarity with electrical codes and industry best practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
