About the position

The Surgery Technologist Resident position at David's Round Rock Medical Center is designed for individuals passionate about providing exceptional patient care in a surgical environment. This role involves assisting professional staff in the operating room, ensuring that all surgical instruments and equipment are prepared and maintained, and supporting the sterile team during surgical procedures. The position emphasizes the importance of asepsis, infection control, and medical ethics while fostering positive patient interactions.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all equipment and instruments are operational and organized.
  • Assist professional staff in providing care for the operative patient before, during, and after surgery.
  • Ensure proper instrumentation and supplies are available on the surgical field and in the operating room.
  • Help the sterile operative team by performing scrub and circulating duties in the operating room.
  • Perform routine and specialized housekeeping duties in the operating room.
  • Apply principles of asepsis, infection control, and medical ethics.
  • Position the patient on the operating room table and prepare by draping the patient and operative site.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Graduate from an accredited educational program for Surgical Technology.
