About the position

The MRI Technologist will operate MRI equipment under the supervision of the MRI Manager or Radiologist, ensuring high-quality imaging and optimal patient care. This role involves screening patients for safety, performing imaging procedures, and maintaining compliance with Prisma Health's values of inspiring health and serving with compassion.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all MRI procedures proficiently, ensuring high quality and timely completion.
  • Identify patients using two patient identifiers and communicate MR safety questionnaire details.
  • Prepare scan room for procedures, maintaining cleanliness and appropriate supplies.
  • Administer contrast materials as prescribed by a physician or approved protocol.
  • Implement emergency procedures as needed during MRI operations.
  • Perform computer functions related to job, ensuring accurate data entry and record-keeping.
  • Exhibit competency in quality control tasks associated with MRI equipment and procedures.
  • Stay updated on organizational and departmental changes by checking emails regularly.
  • Provide clinical instruction to staff technologists and students, and assist in preparing staff schedules.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
  • ARRT registered in Radiology & MRI or ARRT registered in MRI or ARMRIT certification.
  • BLS certification required.
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge of office equipment.
