About the position

The Registered Technologist position at Norman Regional Health System is focused on expanding the innovative cardiovascular program within a community hospital setting. The role involves preparing and operating equipment for cardiovascular procedures, ensuring patient care, and maintaining a sterile environment. The technologist will work closely with a team of cardiologists and electrophysiologists in a state-of-the-art facility, contributing to high-quality patient care and supporting the training of new staff.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares equipment before and during procedures.
  • Identifies and assesses patient condition.
  • Prepares, positions, and provides patient care.
  • Establishes and maintains a sterile environment.
  • Serves as preceptor for new hires and radiology students.
  • Participates in the orientation of new staff.
  • Uses downtime appropriately by stocking rooms and checking equipment.
  • Maintains strong professional working relationships with physicians and leadership.

Requirements

  • Completion of a 24-month formal program or military program of Radiologic Technology.
  • Eligible for or current American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) certification.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) training required during orientation and must be maintained throughout employment.
  • ACLS training must be achieved within 6 months of hire and maintained throughout employment.
  • Graduate of an accredited Radiographic Program or Cardiovascular Program.
  • One year of experience working in a Cath Lab preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • Registered and/or RCIS certification preferred.
  • Experience in a procedural area preferred.
