About the position
The Technologist-Medical Senior position at Baptist Memorial Health Care involves utilizing laboratory skills to perform and report results of laboratory procedures, ensuring optimal patient outcomes. The role includes evaluating technical methods, executing efficient laboratory operations, and supporting lifelong learning while working assigned shifts, which may include overtime and call back as required.
Responsibilities
- Receives, identifies, organizes and prioritizes specimens to ensure accurate and timely test processing.
- Performs and reports requested laboratory procedures.
- Performs quality control, proficiency testing, routine instrument maintenance and inventory control.
- Evaluates positive patient identification to reduce analytical and post-analytical error and/or adverse patient outcomes.
- Assesses, evaluates and draws appropriate conclusions.
- Evaluates technical methods and procedures.
- Executes effective and efficient Laboratory operations.
- Supports life long learning.
- Completes assigned goals.
Requirements
- Minimum: State licensures and/or National registration or certification in concordance with current Federal and/or State Regulations.
- Minimum: 3 years experience as Medical Technologist.
- Minimum: Basic computer literacy skills.
- Preferred: Hospital experience preferred.
- Preferred: ASCP certification.
- Minimum: ASCP; NCA; AMT certification.
