About the position

MedPro Healthcare Allied Staffing is seeking a travel Cath Lab Technologist for a travel job in Portsmouth, Virginia. This position is designed for a qualified individual who is ready to provide essential support in the cardiac catheterization lab (CCL). The Cath Lab Technologist will be responsible for assisting with patient care, ensuring that all procedures are performed safely and competently. The role requires working under the direction and immediate supervision of a cardiologist or radiologist, providing technical assistance during various invasive cardiac or peripheral vascular diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. The Cath Lab Tech will be expected to operate ancillary equipment, anticipate the needs of the cardiologist, and obtain necessary catheters, wires, and medications as ordered. Compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as accepted practice guidelines, is crucial. The position emphasizes delivering quality, cost-effective patient care in a professional manner, while maintaining a patient-focused environment that promotes safety and excellence. Responsibilities

  • Provide assistance with patient care in the cardiac catheterization lab (CCL).
  • Assist in the performance of various invasive cardiac or peripheral vascular diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
  • Operate ancillary equipment during procedures under the direction of the cardiologist/radiologist.
  • Anticipate and obtain catheters, wires, and other necessary inventory and medications as ordered.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local technical and professional regulations and accepted practice guidelines.
  • Deliver quality, cost-effective patient care in a professional manner.
  • Maintain an environment of excellence that is patient-focused and provides timely, compassionate, quality patient care.
  • Promote and maintain a safe work environment for both staff and customers, incorporating national patient safety initiatives.

Requirements

  • Valid Cath Lab Technologist certification or equivalent.
  • Experience in a cardiac catheterization lab setting.
  • Ability to operate medical equipment and assist in invasive procedures.
  • Strong understanding of federal, state, and local regulations regarding patient care.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous travel experience as a Cath Lab Technologist.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
  • Advanced certifications in cardiac care or related fields.
