About the position

Focus Staff is seeking a highly motivated and energetic travel MRI Technologist for a contract assignment in Gadsden, Alabama. This position is temporary, lasting for 13 weeks, and involves working night shifts of 8 hours. The MRI Technologist will be responsible for operating magnetic resonance imaging equipment to produce cross-sectional images of patients' bodies for diagnostic purposes. Under the direction of the Chief of Radiology and the Imaging Services Director, the technologist will perform related technological functions to ensure optimal diagnostic quality of patient care while utilizing efficient and safe processes. The role requires proficiency in MRI procedures and knowledge of the required protocols for performing complex MRI scans. The technologist will be expected to interview patients to explain the MRI procedures, address any concerns, and ensure a high degree of tact, courtesy, and poise when interacting with patients, staff, and visitors. Safety is a critical aspect of this position, as the technologist must ensure both patient and staff safety by explaining safety protocols, requesting the removal of hazardous metal objects, and monitoring patients via closed circuit TV. Additionally, the MRI Technologist will be responsible for orienting new hires and training MRI Technologist students and trainees. Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Must be a licensed MRI Technologist with at least 2 years of continuous recent experience in the field.
  • Fully proficient in MRI and knowledgeable about required protocols for complex MRI procedures.
  • Ability to learn applications relevant to the position.
  • 2 years of hospital experience in a clinical area.
