About the position

As an MRI Technologist at RAYUS Radiology, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality MRI imaging services to patients. This position emphasizes a patient-centered approach, ensuring that patients feel supported and informed throughout their imaging experience. You will operate MRI scanners to produce diagnostic images, maintain equipment, and uphold professional standards in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

  • Operate assigned MRI scanner(s) to produce diagnostic images of patients' bodies.
  • Screen patients before exams for any precautions or contradictions using two patient identifiers.
  • Explain MRI procedures to patients, preparing them for the examination and addressing their concerns.
  • Perform routine and advanced MRI procedures with minimal supervision, ensuring patient support throughout the process.
  • Adjust MRI scan parameters as needed to obtain optimal images.
  • Maintain positive relationships with radiologists, referring customers, and colleagues.
  • Follow physicians' orders and safety regulations to protect patients and coworkers.
  • Accurately maintain patient records within the Radiology Information System (RIS).
  • Keep the work area orderly and clean, promoting good safety habits.
  • Maintain equipment in good working order, cleaning and disinfecting after each use.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA guidelines.
  • Assist with maintaining an updated imaging protocol manual and monitor medical supply inventory.
  • Train new associates and provide technical expertise as needed.

Requirements

  • Experience as an MRI Technologist with knowledge of MRI procedures and protocols.
  • Ability to operate MRI equipment and adjust scan parameters effectively.
  • Strong communication skills to explain procedures and address patient concerns.
  • Attention to detail in maintaining patient records and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with radiologists and other healthcare professionals.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certification in MRI technology from a recognized body.
  • Experience with Radiology Information Systems (RIS).
  • Knowledge of ACR accreditation requirements.
