About the position

RTG Medical-Allied is seeking a dedicated and skilled Special Procedures Technologist for a travel position in Salem, Virginia. This role is essential for providing high-quality patient care in a variety of clinical settings. The Special Procedures Technologist will be responsible for performing specialized imaging procedures, ensuring patient safety, and maintaining high standards of care throughout the duration of the assignment. The position requires a commitment to excellence and the ability to adapt to different healthcare environments, as the technologist will be working in various facilities during their travel assignment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in radiologic technology and experience in special procedures, including but not limited to angiography, interventional radiology, and other advanced imaging techniques. The role involves collaborating with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes. The Special Procedures Technologist will also be responsible for maintaining equipment, adhering to safety protocols, and providing education to patients regarding procedures and care. This travel position is expected to last for 13 weeks, with a standard work schedule of 40 hours per week, typically consisting of 8-hour shifts during the day. The start date for this position is as soon as possible, and the pay package will be based on the confirmed hours worked, including a tax-free stipend that will be determined based on the specifics of the assignment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform specialized imaging procedures in accordance with established protocols.
  • Ensure patient safety and comfort during procedures.
  • Collaborate with physicians and healthcare teams to provide optimal patient care.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot imaging equipment as needed.
  • Educate patients about procedures and post-care instructions.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and infection control measures.

Requirements

  • Valid certification as a Radiologic Technologist.
  • Experience in special procedures, including angiography and interventional radiology.
  • Strong knowledge of imaging equipment and safety standards.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to different clinical settings.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
