About the position

RTG Medical-Allied is seeking a skilled and dedicated travel Cath Lab Technologist for an exciting opportunity in Olney, Maryland. This position is designed for professionals who are looking to expand their experience in a dynamic healthcare environment. As a Cath Lab Technologist, you will play a crucial role in assisting with diagnostic and interventional procedures in the catheterization laboratory. Your expertise will be essential in ensuring the safety and comfort of patients undergoing these procedures, as well as in supporting the medical team in delivering high-quality care. In this travel role, you will be expected to work a standard schedule of 40 hours per week, with shifts lasting 8 hours each day. The position is set to begin on September 10, 2024, and will last for a duration of 13 weeks. As a travel position, you will have the opportunity to explore new locations while contributing your skills to various healthcare facilities. The pay package for this role is based on 8-hour shifts and 40 hours per week, with a tax-free stipend amount that will be determined upon confirmation of the position. This role requires a strong commitment to patient care, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team of healthcare professionals. You will be responsible for operating specialized equipment, preparing patients for procedures, and ensuring that all necessary supplies and instruments are available. Your attention to detail and ability to work under pressure will be vital in this fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in diagnostic and interventional procedures in the catheterization laboratory.
  • Ensure patient safety and comfort during procedures.
  • Prepare patients for catheterization procedures and explain the process to them.
  • Operate specialized equipment used in catheterization procedures.
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to provide high-quality care.
  • Maintain a sterile environment and adhere to infection control protocols.
  • Document patient information and procedure details accurately.

Requirements

  • Current certification as a Cath Lab Technologist or equivalent.
  • Experience in a catheterization laboratory setting is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of cardiac anatomy and physiology.
  • Ability to operate and troubleshoot specialized medical equipment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous travel experience as a Cath Lab Technologist.
  • BLS and ACLS certifications.
  • Experience with advanced imaging technologies.
