About the position

The Technology Compliance Officer for Technology Services at Spring Branch Independent School District is responsible for developing, supporting, and managing technology compliance within the district. This role involves overseeing the E-Rate program, ensuring compliance with software licensing, and collaborating with various departments to implement technology policies and procedures. The officer will also supervise the Compliance Support Specialist and maintain documentation for audits and compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor processes to ensure the District meets E-rate program deadlines.
  • Coordinate with consultants to complete documentation by deadlines.
  • Communicate program updates to stakeholders.
  • Coordinate processes with purchasing to meet district and E-Rate compliance requirements including the writing of proposal requests.
  • Manage and maintain E-Rate documentation.
  • Track/monitor E-Rate billing information and reimbursements.
  • Keep E-rate documentation updated and complete to meet audit requirements.
  • Responsible for coordinating and preparing documentation for E-Rate audits.
  • Track disbursement payments.
  • Work with technology departments to prepare Board agenda items.
  • Manage the approval process for new software and digital resource requests.
  • Review software purchasing requests for licensing compliance.
  • Track software licensing for installations and compliance.
  • Maintain a list of approved district digital resources.
  • Maintain records of application licenses.
  • Work with other departments and stakeholders in the development and implementation of district policies related to technology.
  • Support the management of content filtering.
  • Develop, update, and communicate technology policies and procedures for internal processes in the Technology Services Department.
  • Coordinate processes for completion of Board Agenda items and department contracts for technology.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of three (3) years working in functional area(s) of technology preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of technology concepts and architecture required.
  • Strong communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to interact effectively with all levels of district personnel.
  • Ability to maintain and organize data for completion of documents for government submissions.
  • Strong organization skills.
  • Ability to meet project timelines and prioritize tasks.
  • Ability to manage budgets.
  • Ability to develop and implement policy and procedures.
  • Reliable, flexible, and punctual work habits.
  • Self-starter.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge and experience working with the Schools and Libraries Program of the Universal Service Fund (E-Rate).
  • Knowledge and experience with software licensing compliance.
  • Experience working with inventory management and/or control systems.
