About the position

The Technology Development Program (TDP) at AT&T is designed to empower individuals to create real change in a connected world. Currently, the program has openings for the Network Engineer role in Dallas. As a Network Engineer, you will collaborate with teams responsible for the architecture, engineering, and operation of AT&T's wireless and fiber-based networks. Your responsibilities will include creating and implementing plans for voice, video, and data technologies, contributing to the development of automated self-managed networks. This role is crucial as it forms the foundation of AT&T's business legacy. In this position, you will engage in various tasks such as planning future cell locations for the latest Wireless 5G network, managing high-capacity router network growth, and creating optical fiber build plans to enable broadband streaming. You will analyze data, work with vendors, and transform information into actionable plans and status updates for cross-functional teams and leadership. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of technical skills and leadership qualities, with a focus on developing the next generation of technical leaders in the network domain.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with teams responsible for the architecture, engineering, and operation of AT&T's wireless and fiber-based networks.
  • Create, communicate, and implement plans for voice, video, and data technologies.
  • Plan future cell locations for the Wireless 5G network.
  • Manage high-capacity router network growth.
  • Create optical fiber build plans for broadband streaming.
  • Analyze data and work with vendors to drive key decisions.
  • Transform information into stories, plans, and status updates for cross-functional teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math).
  • Comfortable with at least one programming language.
  • Familiarity with data analysis techniques for data retrieval, manipulation, and visualization.
  • Good understanding of automation fundamentals.
  • Knowledge of financials and ability to translate technical details into common terms.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
