Your impact will be felt no matter how your work translates to our core goal of serving customers and transforming lives. We're fueled by a passion to provide innovative solutions and driven to connect the world in meaningful ways. Our Technology Development Program (TDP) is focused on accelerating your career, transforming you from a student to a highly skilled technology professional. As a member of TDP, you will be immersed in our culture of impact, innovation, and collaboration as you work on high-value initiatives providing one of the best overall wireless and 5G networks in America. You will also gain membership into a network of mentors, supporters, and a group of highly motivated peers like yourself, enabling you with an organic support system to launch your career into the future. It is a collaborative environment rich with opportunities designed to help you strengthen your capabilities and reach your fullest potential. TDP includes roles as a Software Engineer, Data Analyst, Technical Business Manager, Systems & DevOps Engineer, and Network Engineer. As a Network Engineer, you will spend your time partnering with the group responsible for the architecture, engineering, and operation of AT&T's outstanding wireless and fiber-based networks. You will be creating, communicating, and implementing plans for voice, video, and data technologies to take AT&T to the next generation of automated self-managed networks. This group is our boots on the ground, and the foundation of AT&T's business and legacy. By providing you with a wide breadth of technical and leadership experiences, connecting you with our strongest managers, along with exposure to executive leaders, our focus is to develop the technical leaders of tomorrow's network. In this role, you may be planning future cell locations for the latest Wireless 5G network, managing high-capacity router network growth, or creating the optical fiber build plans that enable broadband to stream video. To do this, you will be analyzing data, working with vendors, and transforming information into a story, plan, and status that you can communicate to cross-functional teams and leaders to help drive key decisions and keep complex projects on track. Network Engineers are curious and multiskilled. Desired skill sets for this role include the ability to be comfortable with at least one programming language; data analysis techniques for data retrieval, manipulation, and visualization; a good understanding of automation fundamentals; knowledge and understanding of financials; and the ability to translate technical details into common terms. We are looking for someone of integrity with excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills and the ability to interface with all levels of internal and external leadership. You are a go-getter that likes to get your hands dirty. You are not afraid of a gritty experience and are hungry to overcome challenging situations. We value results-driven self-starters who can work effectively in multi-disciplinary environments throughout cross-functional teams. You will also need to be naturally curious about the many innovations being fostered at AT&T every day and be a lifelong learner.
