About the position

The Technology Operations Consultant at Travelers plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficiency and effectiveness of technology operations. This position involves leveraging expertise across various disciplines and technologies, including Mainframe, Network, Voice, Distributed, and Cloud-based systems, to support employees' technology needs. The consultant will lead a team in adapting to new technologies, diagnosing and resolving issues, and improving operational processes to deliver top-tier service and products.

Responsibilities

  • Perform and adapt to many operational tasks across various disciplines and technologies.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues independently.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and training to the team.
  • Consult and collaborate with engineering teams and business units.
  • Lead the team to identify repetitive work functions that can be automated.
  • Leverage capabilities within ServiceNow to streamline issues and workflows.
  • Identify improved monitoring opportunities and improvements.
  • Ensure effective documentation is available to the team.

Requirements

  • Five years of proficiency with one or more technologies across Mainframe, Network, Voice, Distributed and Cloud based systems.
  • Strong understanding of distributed systems, including cloud infrastructure and network protocols.
  • Experience with managing and maintaining Windows Servers.
  • Experience with Linux-based systems, including system administration and shell scripting.
  • Knowledge of mainframe technologies.
