About the position

The Technology Product Analyst IV position is designed for individuals who are adept at compiling, researching, analyzing, and documenting data, requirements, workflows, processes, functionality, and controls for the respective Information Systems Division (ISD) group. This role involves developing and evaluating information, preparing recommendations based on thorough analysis, and serving as a liaison or subject matter expert in the respective business area. The analyst will provide leadership for strategic and compliance projects or programs, ensuring that all initiatives align with the organization's goals and standards. In this role, the analyst will work as part of 2-3 Agile Scrum teams, drafting and refining epics and user stories for medium to high complexity Agile projects. The position requires a strong competence in planning, organization, and multi-tasking, particularly for large and complex efforts. The analyst will partner with Scrum Masters to create, maintain, and manage the overall product board/backlog, ensuring that backlog items are ordered to achieve goals and optimize the value of each sprint. Utilizing tools such as Gherkin and Azure Boards, the analyst will clearly present status updates and issues in various formats, leading product meetings including demos. The responsibilities also include eliciting and documenting both functional and non-functional requirements through various techniques such as interviews, document analysis, storyboards, use cases, scenarios, and diagramming. The analyst will document process models, identify process improvement opportunities, and represent requirements using alternative views to facilitate communication within the project/product team. Analyzing information, requirements, data, work quality, and service-specific practices will be crucial in recognizing and proactively raising issues or risks, along with proposing well-considered solutions. The role demands significant creativity and a variety of approaches to solving business and technical problems, as well as the ability to identify and analyze opportunities for new or improved processes, data, or technology. Conducting benchmarking, testing, and trend analysis will drive product development and continuous improvement. The analyst will also ensure compliance with Navy Federal Credit Union ISD standards and best practices, demonstrating leadership within the Scrum team and mentoring interns, contractors, and other analyst staff. Continuous improvement of industry/domain-specific knowledge is essential, as the analyst will remain current with emerging products and technical updates.

Responsibilities

  • Work as part of 2-3 Agile Scrum teams to draft and refine epics and user stories for medium to high complexity Agile projects
  • Demonstrates competence in planning, organization, and multi-tasking of large and complex efforts
  • Partner with Scrum Master(s) for overall product board/backlog creation, maintenance, and management; order backlog items to best achieve goals and optimize the value of each sprint
  • Leverage Gherkin and Azure Boards
  • Clearly present status and issues in a variety of oral and written formats, and lead product meetings including demos
  • Elicit and document functional and non-functional requirements using a variety of techniques, including interviews, document analysis, storyboards, use cases, scenarios, and diagramming
  • Document process models and identify process improvement opportunities
  • Document data requirements and services (SOA, WEB, etc)
  • Represent requirements using alternative views, such as epics/features/stories/product backlog items, models, diagrams, prototypes, or scenarios, to facilitate communication to the project/product team
  • Analyze information, requirements, data, work quality, work methods, processes, service specific practices, standards, and metrics/statistics
  • Recognize and proactively raise issues or risks along with well-considered solutions
  • Interpret results of analysis; present recommendations, including alternatives and implications
  • Demonstrate significant creativity and variety of approaches to solving business and technical problems
  • Identify and analyze opportunities for new and/or improved processes, data, or technology; provide a clear picture of possible outcomes
  • Conduct benchmarking, testing, write test scripts, trend analysis and other input to drive product development and continuous improvement
  • Analyze information to produce analytically driven inferences and hypotheses to generate actionable recommendations
  • Solve business problems by defining the problem, interviewing stakeholders, identifying, and evaluating alternatives, and presenting findings
  • Ensure compliance with Navy Federal Credit Union ISD standards and best practices
  • Demonstrate leadership within the Scrum team and within the Analyst team, including via new ideas and contributes leading improvement efforts
  • Mentor and guide Interns, Contractors, and other Analyst staff
  • Continually seek opportunities to improve and increase level of industry/domain-specific knowledge by remaining current with emerging products and technical updates

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience in IT solution creation and delivery
  • At least 5 years of Scrum and Agile experience
  • Significant experience in problem resolution including determining root cause, scope and scale of issues
  • Advanced skill maintaining accuracy with attention to detail and meeting deadlines
  • Advanced research, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Advanced organizational, planning and time management skills
  • Effective skill communicating with all levels within an organization
  • Effective relationship building, negotiation, and facilitation skills
  • Advanced skill presenting findings, conclusions, alternatives, and information clearly and concisely
  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills
  • Advanced skill making effective presentations to groups of various sizes

  • Experience working in cross-functional, multi-dimensional teams and projects
  • Experienced and well versed in a variety of agile approaches (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, Lean at a minimum)
  • Experience in translating business requirements into technical solutions
  • Experience with Gherkin and Azure Boards
