About the position

The Technology Product Analyst IV at Navy Federal Credit Union is responsible for compiling, researching, analyzing, and documenting data, requirements, workflows, processes, functionality, and controls for the Information Systems Division (ISD). This role involves developing and evaluating information and preparing recommendations based on analysis to aid in decision-making. The analyst will serve as a liaison and subject matter expert in their respective business area, providing leadership for strategic and compliance projects or programs. In this position, the analyst will work as part of 2-3 Agile Scrum teams, drafting and refining epics and user stories for medium to high complexity Agile projects. They will demonstrate competence in planning, organization, and multi-tasking of large and complex efforts, partnering with Scrum Masters for overall product board/backlog creation, maintenance, and management. The analyst will leverage tools such as Gherkin and Azure Boards to present status and issues in various formats, leading product meetings including demos. The role requires eliciting and documenting functional and non-functional requirements using various techniques, including interviews, document analysis, storyboards, use cases, scenarios, and diagramming. The analyst will also document process models, identify process improvement opportunities, and represent requirements using alternative views to facilitate communication with the project/product team. They will analyze information, requirements, data, work quality, work methods, processes, and service-specific practices to recognize and proactively raise issues or risks along with well-considered solutions. Additionally, the analyst will conduct benchmarking, testing, write test scripts, and perform trend analysis to drive product development and continuous improvement. They will ensure compliance with Navy Federal Credit Union ISD standards and best practices while demonstrating leadership within the Scrum team and mentoring interns, contractors, and other analyst staff. Continuous improvement and staying current with emerging products and technical updates are also key aspects of this role.

Responsibilities

  • Work as part of 2-3 Agile Scrum teams to draft and refine epics and user stories for medium to high complexity Agile projects
  • Demonstrates competence in planning, organization, and multi-tasking of large and complex efforts
  • Partners with Scrum Master(s) for overall product board/backlog creation, maintenance, and management; orders backlog items to best achieve goals and optimize the value of each sprint
  • Leverages Gherkin and Azure Boards
  • Clearly presents status and issues in a variety of oral and written formats, and leads product meetings including demos
  • Elicits and documents functional and non-functional requirements using a variety of techniques, including interviews, document analysis, storyboards, use cases, scenarios, and diagramming
  • Documents process models and identifies process improvement opportunities
  • Documents data requirements and services (SOA, WEB, etc)
  • Represents requirements using alternative views, such as epics/features/stories/product backlog items, models, diagrams, prototypes, or scenarios, to facilitate communication to the project/product team
  • Analyzes information, requirements, data, work quality, work methods, processes, service-specific practices, standards, and metrics/statistics
  • Recognizes and proactively raises issues or risks along with well-considered solutions
  • Interprets results of analysis; presents recommendations, including alternatives and implications
  • Demonstrates significant creativity and variety of approaches to solving business and technical problems
  • Identifies and analyzes opportunities for new and/or improved processes, data, or technology; provides a clear picture of possible outcomes
  • Conducts benchmarking, testing, writes test scripts, trend analysis, and other input to drive product development and continuous improvement
  • Analyzes information to produce analytically driven inferences and hypotheses to generate actionable recommendations
  • Solves business problems by defining the problem, interviewing stakeholders, identifying and evaluating alternatives, and presenting findings
  • Ensures compliance with Navy Federal Credit Union ISD standards and best practices
  • Demonstrates leadership within the Scrum team and within the Analyst team, including via new ideas and contributes leading improvement efforts
  • Mentors and guides Interns, Contractors, and other Analyst staff
  • Continually seeks opportunities to improve and increase level of industry/domain-specific knowledge by remaining current with emerging products and technical updates

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience in IT solution creation and delivery
  • At least 5 years of Scrum and Agile experience
  • Significant experience in problem resolution including determining root cause, scope and scale of issues
  • Advanced skill maintaining accuracy with attention to detail and meeting deadlines
  • Advanced research, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Advanced organizational, planning and time management skills
  • Effective skill communicating with all levels within an organization
  • Effective relationship building, negotiation, and facilitation skills
  • Advanced skill presenting findings, conclusions, alternatives, and information clearly and concisely
  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills

  • Certifications in MS Azure Cloud Fundamentals, SAFe certification, Certified Scrum Master (CSM)
  • Pega CBA certification with 5+ years of Pega application delivery related experience
