About the position

The Technology Project Manager at Hyphn is responsible for managing complex audio visual, structured cabling, and security projects post-sales. This role involves coordinating project resources, leading installation teams, and ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to high standards of quality. The position requires strong communication and organizational skills to maintain project timelines and budgets while achieving high customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will bring a critical set of skills and experiences to enhance the Workplace Technology team.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain organization and reporting on all assigned active and punch list technology projects for the Workplace Technology department.
  • Coordinate project activities, including scheduling technicians and overseeing project completion.
  • Attend OAC meetings and communicate with internal and external teams based on project deadlines and deliverables.
  • Ensure Workplace Technology projects are completed on time, on budget, and with high customer satisfaction.
  • Develop best practices for technology projects and share key learnings with the project team.
  • Communicate regularly with other Project Managers to ensure consistency in project handling.
  • Plan and coordinate project teams for Workplace Technology installation projects.
  • Assume ownership of individual projects and assignments.
  • Establish and maintain communication with Sales Engineers, Technicians, and clients regarding project status.
  • Develop and communicate project updates to internal teams weekly or as required.
  • Monitor labor, equipment, and materials budgets throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Assist Field Supervisors to ensure schedules are met and maintain communication with contractors and clients.
  • Develop and maintain installation schedules and project status using software tools.
  • Organize project documentation within Google Drive for accuracy.
  • Provide regular updates to project schedules and maintain punch-lists of remaining tasks after substantial completion.
  • Coordinate training and turnover of projects to clients and service teams as necessary.
  • Handle invoicing and accounting information related to projects when applicable.
  • Manage material and equipment returns, exchanges, and RMA processes with vendors.
  • Retrieve fiber and copper results for distribution to relevant contacts.
  • Develop overall project reporting and share successes and failures with leadership.
  • Handle construction permitting and Certificate of Insurance documents as needed.
  • Provide submittal packages and Request for Information documents when requested.
  • Submit complete close-out documentation upon project completion.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience as a Project Manager or Program Manager for technology integration projects.
  • Project Management and/or A/V, Security or Low Voltage certifications preferred (PMP, CTS, CTS-D, CTS-I, BICSI).
  • Experience reading and translating construction drawings and plans.
  • Strong time management and project management skills.
  • Familiarity with audio/video systems and low voltage, security, and A/V electrical concepts.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Supervisory and people management skills.
  • High School diploma or equivalent required; formal education in electronics or engineering preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of or experience with D-Tools System Integrator software.
  • Knowledge of or experience with ProCore software.
  • Experience with commissioning A/V and security systems.
  • Experience managing teams and/or projects in the field at construction sites.
  • Experience project managing or installing audio-visual, teleconferencing, or structured cabling systems.
  • Experience using hand tools related to A/V, low voltage, and security trades.
