About the position

The Risk Consulting Services - Technology Risk Consulting SOC Manager at RSM is a pivotal role designed for professionals seeking career advancement in a dynamic consulting environment. This position focuses on managing risk and compliance engagements, particularly SOC1 and SOC2, while fostering strong client relationships and mentoring junior team members. The SOC Manager will play a crucial role in helping clients navigate IT risk management and assurance, ensuring high-quality deliverables and compliance with industry standards.

Responsibilities

  • Overseeing SOC1, SOC2 and related readiness and attestation engagements, including leading teams in planning and fieldwork.
  • Ensuring the delivery of high-quality deliverables and compliance with quality assurance and independence policies.
  • Consulting with client leadership on strategic plans and emerging risks in information technology.
  • Assessing IT security policies, procedures, and controls of clients' technology infrastructure.
  • Identifying internal IT controls, assessing their effectiveness, and developing remediation plans.
  • Communicating findings and recommendations to client personnel.
  • Contributing to business development and client sales opportunities.
  • Mentoring and training junior team members.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
  • Five or more years of experience in business process controls and IT risk management, internal audit, or IT compliance.
  • Experience leading engagements and managing staff, including project financials.
  • Strong understanding of information technology controls and security in financial applications (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
  • Good understanding of relevant regulations and industry standards (e.g., FFIEC, SOX, COSO).
  • Professional certifications such as CPA, CISA, CISSP, CISM, or CIPP.
  • Ability to interpret and convey technical information to various audiences.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
