About the position

The Technology Strategy Analyst at Hanwha Vision America plays a crucial role in identifying emerging technologies and developing a comprehensive technology roadmap for the company. This position involves extensive research and analysis to align technology strategies with business needs, focusing on smart vision solutions across various industries. The analyst will also engage in open innovation initiatives, collaborating with internal teams and external tech companies to explore new opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct mid and long-term technology roadmap planning.
  • Perform technology intelligence to identify threats and opportunities of new emerging technologies.
  • Research and analyze technology data, including patents and business data, to identify trends and market needs.
  • Identify necessary technologies in alignment with product/solution roadmaps.
  • Evaluate technologies for R&D resource allocation and procurement logic.
  • Write strategic technical reports and present findings.
  • Identify target segments for technology innovation and connect with internal teams.
  • Scout and analyze tech companies and startups for business cooperation opportunities.
  • Create and update wish-lists of technologies and startups for target segments.
  • Travel up to 30% for industry shows, customer events, and collaboration with Hanwha Vision HQ.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 8 years' experience in R&D engineering, technology planning, or strategy.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, science, or a related field.
  • Advanced degree (master's or equivalent) preferred.
  • Understanding of smart vision solutions and related technologies such as AI, cloud, and cybersecurity.
  • Strong research and analytical skills, particularly in patent data.
  • Professional writing skills for strategy planning reports.

  • Valuation of technology or corporations in the context of technology transfer/licensing, M&A, or CVC investment.
  • Startup network in relevant domains.
  • Proven interpersonal and negotiation skills in technology licensing agreements.
