About the position

The Technology Support Assistant at Canyon ISD is responsible for providing technical support for campus-level technology systems. This role involves responding to requests from faculty and staff regarding computer software, hardware, and peripheral devices, ensuring that technology operates smoothly within the district.

Responsibilities

• Provide appropriate technology support for request tickets in the district-wide work order system.
• Provide first line campus-level technical support for hardware, software, printers, and computer peripheral devices including routine maintenance, repairs, updates, cleanings, and troubleshooting.
• Assist with support of technology in the classroom in a timely manner utilizing available support tools and innovative technologies.
• Assist other Technology department personnel with installation and implementation of hardware and software as requested.
• Perform repairs as needed to maintain clean, operable equipment.
• Assist with necessary management of computers and printers following normal procedures including beginning and closing-of-year procedures.
• Stay current with advances in the computer technology industry.
• Update licensed software programs as required.
• Record service requests into the district work order system.
• Assist with inventory procedures for all campus-level technology-related equipment.
• Maintain confidentiality of information.
• Support administrative policy and represent the school system positively to the community.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Knowledge of basic computer software and hardware preferred
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to troubleshoot and correct basic technology-related problems
• Flexibility to manage multiple requests from various areas simultaneously
• Ability to work professionally with staff of CISD
