About the position

Wiley|Wilson has 180+ employee-owners serving clients in five different locations, and we are looking for the right person to grow with us! We are seeking a Senior Technology Designer to join our team in Alexandria, VA. The ideal candidate will provide subject matter expertise and lead the design and delivery of structured cabling systems, audio/visual systems, and electronic security systems for various projects. This senior role involves project leadership, mentoring and training junior staff, and client-facing responsibilities. You will oversee the entire design process or serve as a technical expert on specialized components while managing multiple concurrent projects. Strong time management, superb interpersonal skills, and excellent task management and organization are critical to success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Lead projects and provide subject matter expertise.
  • Mentor and train junior staff.
  • Attend client and project meetings to coordinate items related to scope and design.
  • Manage Revit production, assign tasks, and guide team members to project completion.
  • Ensure adherence to quality standards, schedules, and budgets.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience designing structured cabling, audio/visual, and electronic security systems.
  • A bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, Architecture, or a related field is required for candidates with 10-14 years of experience.
  • For candidates with 15+ years of experience, a degree is not required.
  • Must hold a BICSI Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) certification.
  • Proficient in Autodesk Revit, including tasks such as model setup, linking, and troubleshooting.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage tasks effectively and work independently while thriving in a team environment.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States and obtain a security clearance.
