About the position

The Technology Vice President, Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning and Data at GDIT is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing AI and data management strategies. This position involves leading a team of data scientists and engineers, developing comprehensive AI/ML strategies, and ensuring the successful implementation of data-driven solutions across the organization. The role emphasizes collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning to drive impactful results in AI and data management.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of Data Scientists, AI/ML Engineers and Analysts.
• Manage oversight, outreach initiatives, and internal and external communications related to AI and Machine Learning.
• Develop and implement a comprehensive AI/ML and Data strategy aligned with business objectives.
• Support GDIT's AI and Machine Learning commitments through policy and procedure development.
• Test and validate machine learning models using various methodologies and metrics.
• Provide technical expertise in AI/ML algorithms, data modeling, and data governance.
• Monitor AI & Machine Learning performance to achieve organizational goals.
• Assess emerging AI and machine learning technologies and their implications.
• Identify risks related to data integrity, security, and compliance, and implement mitigation strategies.
• Stay updated on industry trends and champion their adoption within the organization.
• Design and implement scalable data architecture and infrastructure solutions.
• Oversee the development of machine learning systems and data pipelines.
• Collaborate with IT service owners and stakeholders to drive AI/ML and Data projects.
• Provide oversight on government and industry audits related to AI, Machine Learning, and Data.
• Conduct research on AI legislation and provide strategic support to stakeholders.
• Conduct and oversee training on AI and Machine Learning reporting and processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in data management, data analytics, artificial intelligence, or related field; Advanced degree preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in AI/ML, Data Management, or related technical roles.
• 10+ years of related technical experience in Solution Architecture and Programming.
• Significant knowledge and experience working within an Azure environment utilizing Azure AI toolsets.
• Experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI) and BI platforms.
• Proven track record of leading successful AI/ML initiatives.
• Strong understanding of data architecture principles, data warehousing, and ETL processes.
• Proficiency in machine learning frameworks & libraries (e.g., TensorFlow & PyTorch).
• Experience in programming languages (e.g. Python, R, Scala, or Java).
