About the position

The Teen Coordinator at the Boys & Girls Club of Clifton is responsible for overseeing the planning, development, implementation, and supervision of programs aimed at teenagers aged 13-18. This role focuses on creating a safe and engaging environment that fosters academic success, leadership development, and community involvement among teens. The position requires a dynamic individual who is passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of young people and is capable of leading and inspiring them through various programs and activities.

Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver age-appropriate programs focusing on academic success, career preparation, leadership development, and healthy lifestyles.
  • Organize special events, workshops, and field trips that align with the interests and needs of teens.
  • Staff regular Club hours, teen nights, weekend programs, and summer camp.
  • Ensure programs are inclusive and culturally responsive to meet the diverse needs of all participants.
  • Advise Keystone and Torch Leadership Clubs, building community service programs and tracking contributions.
  • Build positive relationships with teen members to understand their interests and challenges.
  • Implement strategies to increase teen membership and regular attendance.
  • Maintain a safe and welcoming environment for all members and enforce Club policies.
  • Supervise part-time teen staff and address conflicts or issues that arise promptly.
  • Collaborate with other Club staff, volunteers, and community partners to enhance program offerings.
  • Communicate regularly with parents/guardians about their child's progress and Club activities.
  • Maintain accurate records of program participation and prepare reports as required by the Program Director.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and/or equivalent experience.
  • Well organized and able to set and meet goals.
  • Team player who engages staff, parents, and young people in planning and decision-making.
  • Clear and effective communicator.
  • Experience with child advocacy and intake is a plus.
  • Ability to build positive working relationships with community leaders.
  • AED, First Aid, Safety, and CPR certification required (within 90 days of hire).
  • CDL Bus License with P & S endorsement preferred within the first year of employment.
