About the position

The Teen Court Case Manager II position is responsible for performing case management duties within the Court Administrator's Mediation/Arbitration and Teen Court programs. This role involves disseminating program information, conducting follow-ups, and tracking juvenile sanctions to ensure successful program completion. The position requires effective communication with various stakeholders, including parents, victims, and attorneys, and involves attending court hearings and mediations.

Responsibilities

• Receive and review case files for accuracy and completeness.
• Contact the State Attorney's Office and other agencies for additional case information.
• Coordinate activities related to teen court hearings and mediations.
• Conduct mediations for court-referred cases to facilitate resolution.
• Provide updates and maintain communication with referral agencies, parents, and victims regarding case progress.
• Assist in recruiting, interviewing, and training volunteers for the program.
• Attend court hearings and workshops, performing assigned tasks as directed.
• Update documentation and track the status of open cases, ensuring timely completion of paperwork.
• Monitor dockets and reschedule hearings as necessary.
• Calculate and forward restitution payments, maintaining a restitution log.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Sociology, Behavioral Sciences, Psychology, Education, Criminal Justice, or a related field.
• Two years of experience in the field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Spanish or Creole speaking preferred.
• Certification as a Florida Supreme Court certified mediator is required or must be obtained within 6 months of hire.

Nice-to-haves
