About the position

This role is with Tektronix, a wholly owned subsidiary of Fortive Corporation, where we challenge our employees to explore the boundaries of what's possible, bringing the digital future one step closer every day. We are seeking a dedicated and hard-working engineer for a six-month Co-Op position within our Hardware Verification team. This opportunity is designed for individuals who are inquisitive problem solvers and eager to gain hands-on experience in hardware verification tasks. As a Co-Op, you will be empowered to perform various tasks that include building test plan definitions, developing test methods, and executing tests to ensure that our products meet functional requirements. You will collaborate closely with Design and Test Engineering teams to address product conformance issues, utilizing software and firmware on simplified customer devices. This role will also involve designing test fixtures and developing automated test software, providing you with the chance to select appropriate test tools and equipment for specified test efforts. Responsibilities

  • Build test plan definitions and develop test methods.
  • Execute tests to ensure products meet functional requirements.

Requirements

  • Actively pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Ability to work for 6 months from July - December 2024.
  • General knowledge of analog/digital hardware concepts and theory.
  • Passion to apply theoretical knowledge to real-world scenarios.
  • Background or curiosity about statistics.
  • Structured problem-solving background or interest.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with embedded firmware.
  • Familiarity with instrument interfaces and communication protocols.
  • Interest in customer use case testing.
