About the position

The Telecom Engineer II is responsible for the design, installation, administration, and optimization of telecom servers and related components to ensure high performance of telecom applications. This role involves consulting with hospital personnel to assess telecom hardware and software needs, configuring new implementations, and developing management processes for the communications environment. The position also includes overseeing the physical security and integrity of the data center and telecom room, while reflecting the mission and values of Memorial Hospital & Health Care Center in all activities.

Responsibilities

• Design, install, administer, and optimize telecom servers and related components.
• Consult with hospital personnel to determine telecom hardware and software needs.
• Configure new implementations and develop management processes for the communications environment.
• Oversee the physical security, integrity, and safety of the data center and telecom room.
• Monitor performance and capacity requirements of all communication systems and servers.
• Manage and provide Tier 3 support for telecommunications topologies.
• Plan, coordinate, install, track movement, and repair telecommunication equipment.
• Support telecommunications applications including Call Manager, Unity Connection, and others.
• Work closely with hospital departments and vendors in project planning of telecommunications configurations.
• Develop and maintain documentation of incidents and procedures on equipment and services.
• Provide training and technical assistance to IT staff and assist Help Desk personnel.

Requirements

• Associates degree in Computer Sciences or Telecommunications Technology, or a related field required.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications, or a related field preferred.
• Intermediate level certification such as CCNA with emphasis on Voice or comparable required.
• Four to five years of experience as a Telecommunications Engineer with advanced telecommunications and network experience required.
• Experience in VOIP and Call Center Management Systems is essential.
• Previous technical training required.
