About the position

The Telecom Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day administration of all internal operations within the communications division of Nushagak Cooperative. This role involves directing activities related to administration and finance, ensuring compliance with industry regulations, and evaluating new technologies for company growth. The manager will also monitor telecommunications operations, manage budgets, and serve as acting CEO/GM when necessary.

Responsibilities

• Direct activities of the communications division's administration and finance operations.
• Prepare long and short term budgets and work plans to implement Board of Directors objectives.
• Monitor adherence to budgets and work plans to ensure objectives are met.
• Evaluate viability of new technology and service offerings for company development.
• Review compensation arrangements and communicate regulatory changes affecting revenue requirements.
• Ensure regulatory compliance with industry specifications, standards, regulations, and laws.
• Work closely with contractors for technical support and equipment management.
• Monitor and manage daily telecommunications/Internet operations, including the Microwave radio network.
• Identify areas of concern and develop plans for proactive maintenance.
• Collaborate with the Electric Operations Manager to ensure proper construction of communication facilities.
• Perform special projects as requested by the CEO/GM.
• Serve as acting CEO/GM in their absence.

Requirements

• Experience in telecommunications operations management.
• Strong understanding of regulatory compliance in the telecommunications industry.
• Proven ability to manage budgets and work plans effectively.
• Technical knowledge of telecommunications equipment and systems.
• Experience in project management and team leadership.

Nice-to-haves

• Familiarity with microwave radio technology.
• Experience in a cooperative or similar organizational structure.
• Knowledge of broadband and cable television operations.
