About the position

The Telecom Project Coordinator role is a temp-to-hire position at a growing IT Integrations company located in Plainview, NY. This position involves overseeing and coordinating telecom projects, particularly the migration of POTS services to VoIP. The coordinator will manage project timelines, maintain customer relationships, and ensure all technical aspects are executed efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Overseeing and coordinating telecom projects from start to finish.
  • Tracking projects from inception to completion while responding to inbound calls from customers and field technicians.
  • Preparing and completing action plans for each project, including site surveys, installations, and post-technical support.
  • Handling heavy customer contact, including explaining installations, equipment, and processes, and resolving scheduling conflicts.
  • Coordinating on-site client visits, confirming site visits with clients and field technicians, and ensuring equipment is on-site.
  • Documenting all costs of projects and following up with clients.
  • Scheduling telephone numbering porting and service turn-up, including vendor management as needed.
  • Monitoring project expenses to meet cost standards and implementing cost-saving actions.
  • Documenting issues that arise and collaborating with the team to improve work practices.
  • Maintaining customer rapport by listening to and resolving concerns.

Requirements

  • Two to three years' experience as a project coordinator.
  • Strong work ethic and customer service skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Project and process management experience.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and documentation skills with attention to detail.
  • Experience or knowledge of order processing.
  • Ability to coordinate technical and non-technical aspects of a job.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects in various stages simultaneously.
  • Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and advanced spreadsheet skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in telecommunications or IT integrations.
  • Knowledge of VoIP services and POTS migration processes.
