About the position

TEKsystems is seeking a Telecommunications Engineer to support various telecommunications initiatives, focusing on operations rather than engineering. The role involves overseeing projects related to fiber deployment and providing technical expertise in battery support across multiple projects. The engineer will be responsible for troubleshooting, coordinating with vendors, and ensuring compliance with standards and procedures in telecommunications power systems.

Responsibilities

• Support various telecommunications initiatives, including BAU work and project-based tasks.
• Oversee battery support across telecommunications projects.
• Troubleshoot alarms and battery/rectifier issues.
• Perform site walks and surveys to evaluate current designs.
• Update current designs and standards for telecommunications DC power.
• Coordinate with design vendors, OEMs, and construction vendors.
• Collaborate with internal teams such as UCOMM Engineering and Project Managers.
• Own documentation within various databases and update As-Builts.
• Respond to alarms and work with engineering teams on project-based work.
• Oversee and QC builds from general contractors.
• Help create SOPs and perform training.

Requirements

• Experience with AC and DC power systems.
• Knowledge of telecommunications systems and wireless equipment.
• Familiarity with DWDM and fiber optic networks.
• Proficient in troubleshooting batteries and rectifiers.
• Ability to perform design analysis.
