About the position

The Telecommunications Coordinator is responsible for analyzing and supporting telephone communication systems, including the planning, design, and development of a voice network for the State of Nevada. This role involves managing the Avaya Enterprise Network, providing telecommunications support, and ensuring exceptional customer service to state agencies.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct analysis of telephone communication systems.
  • Participate in planning, designing, developing, and supporting a voice network for the agency.
  • Administer the State of Nevada's Avaya Enterprise Network, including managing servers, switches, routers, and digital/VoIP phones.
  • Provide telecommunications support to State agencies.
  • Assist with telecommunication installation projects, including site surveys, cabling, fiber installations, circuit setup, programming, and physical installation of telephony equipment.
  • Coordinate with agencies and vendor technical personnel to facilitate the installation of equipment, phone lines, and circuits.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer science, business administration, or a closely related field and three years of technical experience with a telephone company or interstate carrier.
  • High school diploma or equivalent education and five years of technical experience as described above.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.
