About the position

As a Network Engineer at Medpace, you will play a crucial role in our IT Infrastructure team, contributing to the rapid growth of our corporate activities. This full-time, office-based position is ideal for individuals who are eager to leverage their existing expertise while also developing their skills further in a dynamic environment. The role involves working with a variety of technologies, including Cisco switching, routing, and firewalls, as well as Cisco Call Manager, Meraki, and Check Point firewalls. You will be expected to establish and maintain network performance, build network configurations, and troubleshoot any network problems that arise. In this position, you will define, document, and enforce system standards to maximize network performance. You will also collaborate with network architects to optimize network configurations and maintain the installation of network links. The ideal candidate will possess a strong work ethic, a positive attitude, and an aptitude for learning new technologies. Your ability to manage multiple devices and applications effectively, along with strong problem-solving and analytical skills, will be essential for success in this role. Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain network performance.
  • Build network configurations and connections.
  • Troubleshoot network problems.
  • Define, document, and enforce system standards.
  • Maximize performance by troubleshooting network problems and outages and scheduling upgrades.
  • Update network equipment.
  • Collaborate with network architects on network optimization.
  • Maintain and coordinate installation of network links.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Cisco CCNA or CCNP certification is desired.
  • Desire to learn and grow with a solid foundation of experience.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent documentation skills.
  • Effective time management skills.
  • Aptitude to manage many different devices, applications, and priorities effectively.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with peers, end users, and management.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Cisco Call Manager, Call Manager Express, Contact Center, and Unity.
  • Familiarity with Cisco Meraki and Cisco ISE.
  • Knowledge of Cisco DNA and SDWAN from Silver Peak.
  • Experience with Solarwinds Monitoring Software.
