We are currently seeking a Telecommunications Specialist to join our dynamic team in the Winchester, VA area. In this position, you'll be a part of a team that maintains and supports our customers' equipment by ensuring that the telecommunications systems are fully functional. This role is critical in a high-tempo environment, supporting a DISA SP program that provides onsite operation and maintenance (O&M) support of secure and unsecure voice, video, data systems, networks, and information systems. The Telecommunications Specialist will be responsible for identifying process improvements, efficiency gains, and innovative approaches to sustainment operations to enhance the customer's Delightful Customer Experience (DCE). The position requires conducting both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and operational testing to validate performance within prescribed standards and tolerances. You will facilitate monthly operational testing of equipment to ensure operational readiness in accordance with federal and local policies. Coordination with internal project management teams is essential to facilitate the design, testing, and training of new and future communications systems to meet customer needs. Additionally, you will monitor and troubleshoot equipment failures, coordinating and directing system repairs as necessary. As part of your responsibilities, you will review and interpret changes to policy doctrine and directives to determine their impact on mission operations and established processes. This includes developing, updating, and maintaining procedures and guidelines resulting from policy changes or new and emerging technology insertion, as well as making recommendations and informing customers of best practices. You will also certify and validate that new communication platforms are properly installed and brought online for operational use, ensuring that installation efforts do not disrupt the customer's daily operations. Training is a key component of this role, as you will develop and implement new equipment training (NET) and advanced communication equipment training for supported communication officers and internal team members in accordance with DoD and local policies. The ability to rapidly deploy as a communication support team to assist the customer and other Departments and Agencies (D/As) during scheduled/unscheduled exercises, visits, and emergency response events is also required. Finally, you will assist the Logistics Manager with issuing, receiving, transportation, and inventory of equipment, and travel as needed (10%).
