About the position

The Telecommunications Utility Relocations Engineer / Designer is responsible for developing and managing the design of utility relocations for telecommunications conflicts. This role requires a proactive and independent individual with strong technical and engineering skills, project management capabilities, and effective communication abilities. The position emphasizes safety, diversity, equity, and inclusion, and aims to deliver innovative solutions in a startup environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop 30%/60%/90%/100% relocation design for telecom conflicts and obtain utility owner approval.
  • Prepare and provide exhibits as requested for Report of Investigation (ROI).
  • Coordinate with main consultant and Utility Owner to complete design items.
  • Coordinate with utility companies, ensuring compliance with local regulations.
  • Design new infrastructure with strong engineering skills.
  • Maintain effective communication with stakeholders, including clients, contractors, utility companies, and local authorities.
  • Plan, organize, and manage resources, timelines, and budgets as part of project management.
  • Solve complex problems and resolve technical issues, addressing regulatory requirements and managing unexpected changes.
  • Ensure designs are accurate and compliant through attention to detail.

Requirements

  • Expertise performing design for telecom/utility relocations.
  • Experience managing communications with utilities, contractors, and consultants to seek utility approval.
  • Ability to develop 30%/60%/90%/100% relocation design for telecom conflicts.
  • Strong understanding of telecommunications networks, including equipment, cabling, and infrastructure design.
  • Knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to develop effective solutions and overcome obstacles.
  • Experience designing infrastructure layouts, creating schematics, and managing documentation.
  • Expertise with CAD and DGN files, including AutoCAD and OpenRoads Software.
