About the position
Maxar is seeking a Software Engineer to develop robust software applications for processing large images, ensuring they are efficient and ready for operational environments. The role involves collaborating with technical experts, applying software standards, and participating in the full software development lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Convert algorithm definitions and prototypes into robust software applications that run efficiently on large images.
- Apply software standards and processes to produce high quality, extensible, and maintainable software packages.
- Collaborate with technical experts to solve issues and improve efficiency while reducing technical debt.
- Build and improve automated test and verification software and tools.
- Design robust software systems for the integration of existing signal processing tools.
- Debug, refactor, and reimplement existing software codebases into new systems and on new platforms.
- Participate in all aspects of the development lifecycle, including planning, requirements development, software design, implementation and build, documentation, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
Requirements
- US Citizen able to obtain a TS/SCI security clearance with required Polygraph.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technology fields.
- 3+ years of experience in related fields.
- Programming skills in Python and/or C++.
- Version control experience in Git (GitHub, GitLab, BitBucket).
- Experience in implementing software using mathematical solutions.
Nice-to-haves
- 7+ years software and image processing experience.
- Experience with formal software development methodologies (Agile).
- Experience writing software implementing algorithms.
- Background or experience with orbital dynamics.
