Pediatric Associates, founded in Hollywood, FL in 1955, is dedicated to providing exceptional pediatric care through a clinician-led, evidence-based medical home model. As part of the Pediatric Associates Family of Companies, you will join a passionate team of Pediatricians and Pediatric Care Teammates who are committed to being part of the first nationwide Pediatric Primary Care Medical Home. This role is essential in ensuring that patients receive the best possible care through telehealth services. The primary function of this position is to provide initial intake information in preparation for a telehealth visit with a clinician, which is crucial for the assessment, promotion, maintenance, and restoration of the patient's health and wellness. In this role, you will be responsible for greeting video telemedicine patients with a professional and friendly attitude, ensuring they have come through the proper channels for telemedicine services. You will document important intake information, including past medical history, family history, current medications, allergies, and pharmacy information. If the patient is eligible for telemedicine, you will transfer them to a clinician; if not, you will assist in scheduling an appointment with their primary care clinician. Accuracy and efficiency in documentation within various systems (XPM, CRM, EHR) are essential, as is compliance with HIPAA regulations. You will also be expected to communicate with offices as necessary and meet established performance standards. Continuous training and attendance at meetings will be required to stay updated on protocol changes and available training opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Initial greeting of the video telemedicine patient with a professional, upbeat, friendly attitude.
  • Identify if the patient has come through the proper channels to be seen via telemedicine.
  • Escalate any clinical or triage questions to the Telemedicine MA or RN to ensure capability for a telehealth visit.
  • Document appropriate intake information including past medical history, family history, current medications, allergies, and pharmacy information.
  • Transfer the patient to a clinician if eligible for telemedicine.
  • Assist in scheduling an appointment with the primary care clinician if not eligible for telemedicine.
  • Document accurately and efficiently within all systems (XPM, CRM, EHR).
  • Obtain and confirm patient's information abiding by HIPAA law.
  • Schedule appointments using clinical prioritizing protocols and scheduling policies.
  • Communicate with offices when necessary.
  • Meet established standards within all performance criteria.
  • Attend necessary training/meetings to stay up to date on protocol changes and available training.
  • Perform other duties such as outbound calls, copying, faxing, etc.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Proficient in English and Spanish.
  • Previous customer service experience required.
  • Strong verbal communication skills.
