About the position

The Telemetry Monitor Technician is responsible for providing continuous ECG monitoring, interpreting cardiac rhythms, and ensuring the proper functioning of telemetry equipment. This role requires a strong understanding of EKG interpretation and the ability to troubleshoot monitoring issues. The position is full-time, with a schedule of three 12-hour shifts per week, including weekends, and is structured as a 6-month contract with the potential for hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide continuous ECG monitoring through assessment of EKG strips and accurate interpretation of cardiac rhythms and dysrhythmias.
• Measure P-R intervals, QRS widths, and ST segment deviations.
• Recognize monitoring problems, identify probable causes, and seek solutions to correct issues.
• Maintain inventories, supplies, hardware, and telemetry transmitters in working condition.
• Report malfunctions promptly as applicable.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Knowledge of cardiac rhythms and basic EKG interpretation.
• At least 1 year of experience as a monitor technician is preferred.
• Successful completion of PHC telemetry monitoring competency assessment within 30 days of hire is required.

Nice-to-haves

• Certification as a Certified Cardiac Monitor Telemetry Technician (CCMTT) or Certified Rhythm Analysis Technician (CRAT) is preferred.
