About The Position

Telemetry RN's monitor patients' vital signs by reading and analyzing an electrocardiogram, or another life sign-measuring device. Tele RN's are required for post-ICU care. Tele RN's monitor critically ill patients: most are cardiac cases. Tele RN's typically work in a hospital setting. Tele RN's care for patients who are out of the ICU, but need their vital signs monitored closely (after surgery, for example).

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
  • Must pass the NCLEX to apply for a license as a Registered Nurse (RN).
  • Must have an active state license to work as an RN.
  • ACLS and TELE certifications are often required.
  • Recent experience in a similar role is required.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor patients' vital signs using electrocardiograms and other life sign-measuring devices.
  • Provide care for critically ill patients, primarily cardiac cases.
  • Work in a hospital setting, specifically in post-ICU care.
