About the position
First Choice Nurses is seeking passionate and committed Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) for per-diem and local contract opportunities in various locations across Hampton Roads, Virginia. The role involves providing high-quality patient care in a professional and compassionate manner, with a focus on diverse basic care needs. Responsibilities
- Delegate duties to Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA) to ensure the highest level of care.
- Administer medications and treatments according to the Medication Administration Record (MAR) and Treatment Administration Record (TAR) following physician orders.
- Provide wound care to patients as per physician instructions.
- Admit or discharge patients following facility protocols and physician orders.
- Perform ongoing assessments on patients in accordance with physician orders.
- Explain medications and treatments to patients and their family members while adhering to HIPAA and facility protocols.
- Familiarity with G-tubes, nebulizer treatments, and comfort with tracheostomy care.
Requirements
- Covid Vaccine required.
- Minimum of 1 year experience as an LPN.
- BLS/CPR Certification required.
- Updated PPD within the last year.
- Active LPN/CNA License required.
- Ability to lift at least 50 pounds without restrictions.
- Ability to stand and walk for long hours without restrictions.
- Ability to bend and lift without restrictions.
- Updated immunization records required.
- Clean background check required.
Nice-to-haves
- Excellent knowledge of medical and hospital terminology.
- Good knowledge of MS Office and data entry.
- Compassionate and able to handle stress.
