About the position

The Telephony Cloud Solutions Architect at OneMain Financial is a senior individual contributor responsible for leading the architecture and engineering of telephony solutions. This role focuses on establishing an enterprise telephony platform that supports various business functions, including call centers and corporate sites. The position emphasizes technology strategy development, particularly in transitioning to cloud services, and requires collaboration with multiple teams within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Engineer, spearhead, and implement solutions for complex telephony problems.
  • Collaborate with technology and business partners to ensure successful implementation of solutions.
  • Analyze technical problems and drive stakeholders to implement proposed solutions.
  • Design and implement telephony-as-a-service solutions to meet dynamic business needs.
  • Define non-functional requirements for cloud-based telephony platforms.
  • Coach junior telephony engineers to develop cloud engineering skillsets.
  • Drive automation via Ansible and/or Terraform.
  • Establish and manage telephony service level agreements.
  • Mentor other telephony engineers.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of technology experience with progressive responsibilities, including at least 5 years in a telephony principal engineer or architect role.
  • 5+ years working in a technical role with a solid grasp of advanced telephony concepts.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience managing the deployment of complex cloud telephony solutions in a large-scale environment.
  • Experience in design and implementation of large-scale CCaaS and UCaaS platforms.
  • Experience configuring and implementing telephony services hosted platforms such as Avaya, Alvaria/Noble, NICE, Five9, LiveVOX, RingCentral, or Amazon Connect.
  • Ability to effectively coordinate between technical teams and business stakeholders.
  • Desire towards bias for action and speed in problem-solving technology issues.

  • Experience working in an Agile or similar environment.
  • Strong documentation skills with the ability to write policy, procedure, and standards.
