About the position
The Television & Film Editor Partner will be responsible for editing and assembling raw footage into polished final products for various media formats, including television shows, documentaries, and films. This role requires collaboration with directors and producers to ensure that the final product meets high standards of quality and storytelling, while also managing multiple projects and staying updated on industry trends.
Responsibilities
- Edit and assemble raw footage into polished final products for television shows, documentaries, and films.
- Collaborate with directors and producers to understand project goals and creative vision.
- Select and arrange scenes, ensuring proper pacing, transitions, and audio synchronization.
- Incorporate visual effects, sound design, and music to enhance the storytelling experience.
- Review and provide feedback on edits, making adjustments as necessary based on team input.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
- Stay updated on industry trends and editing techniques to continuously improve skills and output.
Requirements
- Proficiency in video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, Avid Media Composer).
- Strong understanding of storytelling, pacing, and editing techniques.
- Excellent attention to detail and a keen eye for visual composition.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team and communicate effectively.
- Knowledge of color grading and sound editing is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects.
Nice-to-haves
- Bachelor's degree in Film Production, Media Arts, or a related field is preferred.
- Proven experience as an editor in television or film production, with a strong portfolio showcasing your work.
- Familiarity with post-production workflows and processes.
- Previous experience in a collaborative production environment is a plus.
