About the position
The Teller position at Prosperity Bank involves performing various banking functions such as processing deposits and withdrawals, cashing checks, and providing excellent customer service. The role is essential for maintaining the bank's reputation and ensuring efficient operations while promoting the bank's products and services.
Responsibilities
- Process deposits and withdrawals accurately and efficiently.
- Cashing checks and other negotiable instruments for clients.
- Examine documents for endorsements and negotiability.
- Process loan payments and transfers between accounts.
- Sell traveler's checks, official checks, and money orders.
- Verify and balance cash daily, detecting and resolving discrepancies promptly.
- Offer bank products to meet customer needs and strengthen relationships.
- Maintain privacy of customer information and ensure compliance with bank procedures.
- Assist with training or orientation of new staff as needed.
- Complete required reports and records accurately and promptly.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- At least one year of related experience or cash handling preferred.
- Previous Teller experience preferred.
- Good communication skills and professional appearance.
- Good math and typing skills.
- Ability to operate related computer applications and business equipment.
Nice-to-haves
- Understanding of bank operations preferred.
