About the position

The Teller II position at Mayo Employees Federal Credit Union is a full-time role focused on performing complex teller duties while providing exceptional service to credit union members. This position involves assisting members with various financial transactions, maintaining security and confidentiality, and leading the teller line operations in the absence of supervisory staff. The role is ideal for individuals with prior experience in a financial institution who enjoy mentoring and making a meaningful impact in their community.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine member transactions such as deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, transfers, check cashing, wire transfers, stop payments, and Visa cash advances.
  • Provide members with proper receipts for all transactions, including processing night drop and mail transactions.
  • Receive and process loan and Visa payments.
  • Manage cash drawer and handle cash accurately; balance transactions daily and adhere to the Teller accuracy policy.
  • Operate PC, Teller terminal, and printers to enter transactions for members timely and ensure accurate record keeping of all individual member account activity.
  • Maintain a high level of security and confidentiality as appropriate to a financial institution.
  • Assist members with the purchase of savings bonds and certificates of deposit.
  • Open and close safe deposit boxes and escort members in and out of the safe deposit box area.
  • Educate members on the value of other credit union services and cross-sell products.
  • Open and close the credit union office, activating and deactivating the alarm system.
  • Balance the office cash with the general ledger cash each day.
  • Process weekly cash orders with the federal reserve bank.
  • Balance the vault daily to ensure office cash balances with the system.
  • Train new tellers on policy, procedure, and the data processing system.
  • Assume responsibility for the teller line operations in the absence of teller supervisor and/or branch manager.

Requirements

  • A minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent.
  • One year of experience working in a financial institution.
