About the position

The Teller Operations Coordinator plays a crucial role in the banking center, acting as the heartbeat of operations. This position is centered around providing exceptional customer service while also monitoring and training team members. The coordinator works closely with clients to identify sales opportunities and educates customers about the bank's products and services. In this position, you will lead the customer service satisfaction efforts of the banking center, ensuring that customer issues are resolved in a manner consistent with the bank's goals. You will also oversee the technical performance of the financial center, maintaining control over key risk areas such as teller differences, operational losses, and audit control procedures. This includes resolving out-of-balance conditions and ensuring compliance with quarterly and annual audit functions. The role requires handling a cash drawer and a single control vault, ensuring proper control of cash and adherence to all audit and security policies. You will be responsible for maintaining workflow and scheduling for tellers, evaluating employee performance, and determining training needs. Additionally, you will cross-sell and make referrals to generate new business, promote bank products, and further establish business relationships. Conducting teller meetings to communicate new policies and ensure continuous staff development is also a key responsibility. You will explain product benefits and requirements to both customers and tellers, ensuring maximum efficiency in the teller line. Monitoring daily balancing and processing of ATMs, verifying deposits, and alerting tellers about any suspected fraudulent activities are also part of your duties. The coordinator is accountable for ensuring that the total cash in the branch is balanced daily and will coordinate dual control vault responsibilities. Good judgment and adherence to bank policies are essential when overriding transactions for tellers with limited cash authority.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Customer Service Satisfaction of the Banking Center, resolving customer issues effectively.
  • Oversee the Technical Performance of the Financial Center, maintaining control over key risk areas.
  • Handle a cash drawer and ensure proper control of cash, following all audit and security policies.
  • Manage a single control vault, ensuring proper control of vault cash and compliance with policies.
  • Maintain workflow and handle scheduling for tellers.
  • Evaluate employee performance and provide counseling as needed.
  • Determine training needs and establish performance plans for team members.
  • Cross-sell and make referrals to generate new business and promote bank products.
  • Conduct teller meetings to communicate new policies and ensure staff development.
  • Explain product benefits and requirements to customers and tellers.
  • Ensure proper control and maximum efficiency in the teller line.
  • Monitor daily balancing and processing of ATM transactions, including required audits.
  • Verify deposits in the night and lobby depository.
  • Alert tellers about suspected fraud, kiting, theft, or other illegal activities.
  • Secure all cash records and transaction records at the end of the workday.
  • Monitor and control teller cash limits and branch cash, ensuring daily balance.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 2-5 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience with a 10 key calculator and Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook.
  • Prior Teller Experience preferred.
