Teller Supervisor

About the position

The Teller Supervisor at Wintrust Financial is responsible for overseeing the teller staff and managing all branch functions related to customer transactions and routine banking services. This role emphasizes strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills to effectively motivate staff and ensure compliance with banking policies. The position also involves direct customer interaction, operational problem-solving, and participation in the hiring and training of new tellers.

Responsibilities

• Supervise teller staff and manage branch functions related to customer transactions.
• Operate a teller drawer to serve customers in the lobby or drive-up.
• Identify cross-sell opportunities and direct customers to appropriate bank personnel.
• Proactively address operational issues and make necessary approvals or exceptions to policy.
• Report potential fraud to management and ensure compliance with all policies and procedures.
• Conduct routine monthly audits and track daily/monthly sales.
• Participate in hiring, onboarding, training, and performance reviews of teller staff.
• Promote Wintrust culture by providing excellent customer service and engaging in community events.

Requirements

• Previous teller experience required.
• 1-2 years of supervisory experience preferred, ideally in a financial institution.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• High school diploma or GED.
